hello! i joined this community years ago, but it's never been updated. with several people from tlt twitter moving to dreamwidth, i figured i'd kickstart this place and see if we can make it a hang-out spot.

i'm rebecca, liveonthesun_ on twitter. notable fandom contributions inlucde the cottagecore au (gideon/harrow), the kink meme (tlt_kink), and palamedes getting fucked in a nurse's dress ft. very detailed descriptions of lingerie.

i first read gideon the ninth in 2019 and an arc of harrow the ninth in early 2020 and i think because it was the last thing i'd read before the pandemic, my brain just latched onto it as The Last Time We Were Happy. harrow was my comfort read all that year, and i just listened to the audiobooks on a loop every time i was in my car.

i'm in my 30s and have been involved in various fandoms in some capacity on and off for over 20 years now. tlt is the only one i'm currently very active in. feel free to add me as a friend here! my personal blog is mostly about day-to-day real life stuff.

embarrassing admission: i saw this on my reading page, was delighted that there was a TLT community, got confused because i didn't remember subbing to a TLT community, and then remembered all at once that i made it like four years ago. my recollection is that i was trying to lure some of my twitter friends onto dreamwidth by making a comm for our one shared fandom and i kind of abandoned the idea when no one from my circle took the bait. (that was pre-pandemic, geez. time doesn't feel real.)

anyway: hi! nice to meet you, rebecca. i'm finch. i'd love to get some activity going in here, especially now that the fandom's grown. first step for me is probably giving this thing a proper layout and a sticky. i'm also thinking a regular fanwork rec + discussion post, if there's interest. any other ideas?

Hope you don't mind a vague comment hijack on my part - it's been so long since I was in an active lj/dw community that I feel weird about just replying to anyone :"> I would love to see a regular fanwork rec post AND a discussion post - we used to do these at a few of my old fandom spaces on lj, and it really brought the community together! Other thoughts - occasional fic challenges? Drabble/flash fic prompts? Weekly roundup of new fics/art people might have missed elsewhere? (I've been meaning to do that last one for thesixthhouse and keep getting sidetracked, oops.)

Also, I had to laugh at your backstory for this account; I once made a Doctor Who community here for the exact same reason, except it was to lure people off the then-decaying livejournal. Unfortunately tumblr got most of them.

fic challenges, yes!! let's do regular flashfic prompts for sure, then depending on interest we can see what else people want to do? i'm so excited. i'll post a google form soliciting more specific feedback from you all probably sometime tonight, and we can hammer out how frequent all this stuff is gonna be and what it'll look like.

re: the idea of a weekly roundup - that sounds awesome, but i don't personally have time to run it. if you or someone else wants to take charge of it, though, that'd be sick - we should definitely talk.

I'm also very weak in the free time department, haha, which is the reason I've never yet managed to do a round up for Sixth House but maybe a few people could share it, take turns? That could be a good thing to get specific feedback on in your google form. Ahh, also so excited to see some buzz happening somewhere other than twitter!

i would love reclist posts and discussion posts! reclists are so hard to find these days. i missing being able to google "[ship] reclist" and get several LJ posts full of great fic in return.

oh hell yes i love the idea of fanwork reclists and discussion posts! i'd love a space to like, dive into some literary analysis, there's sooo much going on these books that even a few years in i feel like i haven't fully digested so it would be nice to unpack some of that
